The working desk

Make the assumptions visible.

Two small tools for better decisions. The starting numbers are illustrative, not benchmarks. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is saved or sent.

01 / Production economics

What does the work need to cover?

Use one currency throughout. Labour is an internal allowance, not a tax treatment. Expenses are additional direct costs for this batch; delivered clips are accepted outputs.

Read the result

Cost = hours × hourly allowance + direct costs
Contribution = gross revenue × (1 − fee / 100) − cost
Break-even gross = cost / (1 − fee / 100)

Contribution is not net profit: this simplified model excludes tax, fixed overhead, refund uncertainty, payment timing and opportunity cost unless you include them explicitly. It is not a sponsor-rate recommendation or an income forecast. A 100% fee makes break-even unattainable for positive costs.

02 / Observational comparison

What changed across the posts?

Enter the same metric and unit for two groups. Match platform, format, observation window, paid/organic status and approximate length. Commas separate observations, not thousands.

A difference is not a cause

Median = middle observation(s) after sorting
Relative change = (B median − A median) / A median × 100

The example deliberately contains an outlier. The mean moves more than the median. These are descriptive summaries, not a significance test, causal estimate or guarantee. A small or uneven sample, different audiences and changing topic demand can explain a difference. Do not pool platform metrics with different definitions. At a zero baseline median, relative change is undefined.
